In coordination with Somerville Open Studios, Gloria Mindock of Červená Barva Press has organized a poetry reading on a trolley that will connect Davis Square with the future Medford Street Station in Somerville, in honor of the future Green Line Trolley extention. Readings and the Trolley will run noon to 6pm on May 5th and 6th. I will be reading on the trolley leaving Davis Square at 3pm on Sunday, May 6th with Carolyn Gregory. Ian, thanks for your comments over at mine. I see you're a playwright and a poem. I love poetry. I majored in English Lit. though I'm currently unemployed(save for Berlitz where I teach English) and don't know which path to choose for myself now that school is over. I'd very much like to discuss poetry--yours and mine as well as others' with you if you don't mind.
Also, I'd like to link to you but am not sure which category to place you in. So the question: are you a Zionist? begs in this case.

I don't know how the word "Zionist" is used today. It probably means a different thing in America than in Israel (and Americans are hardly in agreement on what the word means.) It's easier to say what I am not: I am neither an "anti-Zionist" nor a Likudnik.
Ian: I will now email you but before that let me stress one point: Since "disengagement" from Gush Katif, I no longer consider the Likud a Zionist party nor do I consider Bibi a certifieable Zionist leader. I now only believe in religious Zionistm(though I, myself, am not religious) as they're the only ones who have a strong connection to the Land of Israel.

As an American, I prefer not to comment on aspects of Israeli politics where I am not particularly informed: i.e. individual politicians. So much of my support for Israel comprises of debunking obvious disinformation, and noting when Antisemitism is masquerading as "critique of Israel." One blog entry that falls into that category is "Breaking with Bread and Puppet".
Given my general political outlook, I suppose I would be most in synch with Labour-- but it's very difficult to say that with certainty when one lives on another continent.
