My kathak teacher Gretchen Hayden and her husband, sarodist, George Ruckert, will be performing a concert this Saturday, December 15th at 7:30pm at MIT's Kresge Auditorium. They will be joined by Pandit Ramesh Misra on sarangi and Aditya Kalyanpur on tabla.
Judging from the last Saturday night concert she gave I expect that come Sunday morning, Gretchenji will push us to our very limits during class.

I mistakenly reported that Aditya Kalyanpur was to be the tabla player for the December 15th concert. It was actually Nitin Mitta who played tabla. Ramesh Misra had to cancel his appearance due to schedule conflicts.
Hopefully I will write a short entry in the next day or so about the concert.
Dear Ian:
I absolutely know you didn't expect a link back. But we know that there is something for me in your blog and there is something for you in mine. I am happy when my blog has got some purpose to do to the blog where it is linked to. It absolutely has done one with your blog. I am happy about that.
I quoted some examples, like yours, only for the pple to understand what a link exchange truly means!
Thank you btw, I am happy my blog hadn't disappointed you.
Cheers!
You need to start writing again!
(I came here by way of your blogcatalog complaint that no one really reads what they are "favoriting"!)
I love the sound of the Sarod, I studied with a student of Ali Akbar Khan. It is one of the most beautiful instruments ever created
Traveller,
I have written again. Part of the reason I was taking time off from blogging was to work on other projects such as rehearsing for an upcoming show.
